Project for 2018

Marking the anniversary of the ending of WW1
I have a strong feeling that we should together mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War 1 in
Holy Trinity houses the town’s roll of honour in the Lady Chapel and so would be the most appropriate
location to invite people visiting the new town centre to come and look, learn, reflect and pray.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;
They sit no more at familiar tables of home;
They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;
They sleep beyond England’s foam.
Ode of Remembrance

We remember those who fought and those who remained anxiously at home in this community, let us pray that God will heal all memories, speak a word of peace, and bring us his healing. Strengthen our hearts, and hands, and minds, O Lord, to work together for peace,

The car park closed from 31st July and there are now barriers. Works have started at the office building.  Please can you use the Langley Hall car park if you are visiting the Church or the Langley Hall during the week. There will be limited parking on a Sunday and it would be appreciated if it can be used by those not so able to walk from car parks further away from the Church. Entry via the car park intercom will no longer be in use.

As the New Town Center opens we need people prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice of visiting all the new restaurants to have a meal there. I’m sure people will be doing this informally but if you would like to be part of a church group meeting for a meal on Friday or Saturday evenings from mid-September to Advent please sign up at the back of church or email Jim. at
